Stand Forever Three Year Olds Dominate Ohio Sires Stakes Action at Lebanon Raceway

Ohio Sires Stakes action kicked the season off Friday at Lebanon Raceway and STAND FOREVER three year old colts and fillies took three of the four $30,000.00 divisions in convincing fashion.
Starting the weekend off on Friday was FOREVER LA NIGH (Stand Forever-Game Madonna) who breezed to an easy wire to wire victory in 1:57.4h for owners Bruce and Patricia Soulsby, driver Tony Hall and trainer Ron Steck.
Saturday night saw trainer Tom Brinkerhoff sweep the two divisions of the colt pace with a pair of colts owned by Rebecca Ewing and Leonard Buckner, both colts, by the way, were born and raised at Hickory Lane Farm. MY MISTER E (Stand Forever-She's a Ruff One) carried over his strong finish to his two year old campaign with a ridiculously easy wire to wire win in 1:58h for Rebecca Ewing. Not to be outdone, OUTDOOR FEVER (Stand Forever-Bang the Door) was declared the winner in his heat when another Stand Forever, FIRETOWERS STAND, was disqualified for interference nullifying a one-two finish for the Stand colts. OUTDOOR FEVER's winning time was the fastest of the evening, 1:57h for his owner, Leonard Buckner. It should be quite a battle this year between these two fine colts; can't wait for the second leg of action! Congratulations to all and best wishes for a successful 2013 campaign.

STAND FOREVER colts DUSTO (Stand Forever- Doctor Cindy) and FIRETOWERS STAND finished first and second in the $15,000.00 final of the James K..Hackett Memorial 3 year old colt pace last Saturday at Lebanon Raceway in preparation for the first leg of Ohio Sires Stakes Action this upcoming weekend.DUSTO, driven by Chris Page, scored in 1:57h while FIRESTONE STAND did it the hard way going first over and just missing by a nose for driver Kayne Kauffman. Both colts are trained by Ohioan Steve Carter, who also owns DUSTO. Congratulations to Steve Carter and the driver's for getting Stand Forever's year off on a high note. SPECIAL LADY D was honored as Ohio's 2012 Horse of The Year and Three Year Old Pacing Filly of The Year saturday night at the Ohio Harness Horsemen's banquet in Columbus, Ohio. In 2012 SPECIAL LADY D bankrolled $115,853 in seven wins, one second and three thirds.

ROSE RUN NELLIE secured the top spot as Ohio's Three Year Old Filly Trotter for 2012. ROSE RUN NELLIE won nine of 23 races. Her victories included Ohio Triple Crown Races: the $21,900 Ohio State Fair Stake, the $100,000 Ohio Sire Stake Championship, and the $28,804 Ohio Breeders Championship at Delaware, Ohio.

Hickory Lane Farm is pleased to announce that it has purchased the millionaire and two time world champion trotter, DEJARMBRO, 2, 1:55f; 3, 1:52.2f ($1,137,285.00) from the Purple Haze Stables, LLC to stand at our Farm here in Ohio beginning with the 2013 breeding season.
DEJARMBRO is a brown four year old son of CREDIT WINNER and the first son of this sire to stand in slots enriched Ohio.
On the race track, DEJARMBRO was a top two and three year old. At two, he won eight of eleven starts, including at one point, seven in a row with seasonal earnings of $224,462.00. He won the $200,000.00 NYSS final at Yonkers and won an elimination of the Breeder's Crown equaling the world record on a five-eights mile track. He set track records at Vernon Downs, Yonkers, where he was one-fifth off the world record; and, at Batavia Downs. Ar three, he was equally accomplished, racing eighteen times, winning half of his starts and finishing in the money seventeen out of eighteen times with seasonal earnings of $905,423.00 while racing against the best three year olds in North America. DEJARMBRO again equaled the world record for three year old colt trotters on a five-eights mile track at Pocono Downs in 1:52.2f, in winning the elimination and later, the final of the $500,000.00 Earl Beal Memorial trot. He also won a heat of the Kentucky Futurity.

At Indiana Downs this past week TRAINFORTHEFUTURE proved that he can sire winners in Indiana just as easily as he does in Ohio. On August 31st, MY HOPE (Trainforthefutire-Looks Like Dawn) captured a $30,000.00 division of the ISS Gold Series 2 year old filly trot with a commanding victory in a fast 1:57.2. There was no doubt about who the best filly was in this race as MY HOPE drew clear of the field down the stretch by 1 1/2 lengths. Last Friday, Hickory Lane Farm studs TRAINFORTHEFUTURE and STAND FOREVER were prominent winners in the Ohio Breeder's filly stakes at Scioto Downs. In the $15,000.00 three year old trotting filly division ROSE RUN NELLIE (Trainforthefuture-Lilyad) followed up on her recent stakes victories with an impressive 2 1/4 length victory in 1:57.1s. Nellie took command at the half mile pole and never looked back easily defeating her rivals. Scott Cox owns, trains and drives this very nice filly.

TRAINFORTHEFUTURE FILLY TROTTERS SWEEP OHIO SIRES STAKES AT NORTHEFIELD PARK; STAND FOREVER FILLIES FINISH FIRST AND SECOND
Friday evening, August 17th at Northfield Park was a hugh evening for Hickory Lane in Ohio Sires Stakes action. In the three year old filly trot and pace divisions, Hickory Lane Farm stallions TRAINFORTHEFUTURE and STAND FOREVER won three of the four divisions and finished second in the final division, just missing a clean sweep.
In the three year old filly trot, the first division for $17,100.00
ROSE RUN NELLIE (Trainforthefuture-Lilyad) went wire to wire and won in a dead heat in a fast 1:58.4h. ROSE RUN NELLIE is a multiple OSS winner for owner, driver and trainer, Scott Cox.
In the second division, EASTER ROSETTE (Trainforthefuture-KW's Lasermachine) pulled off the upset at 14-1 in 2:00.1h winning by one and a quarter lengths for owners Ray Williams and Robert Burkhart, Ohio. Rickie Williams is her trainer and Elliot Deaton was the winning driver.
In the three year old filly pace, STANDING DANETTE (Stand Forever-Emkea) scored her first OSS win after coming so close in previous starts by crushing the field wire to wire by three lengths is a blistering 1:55.4 h, with a 28.4 final quarter. This fine filly is peaking at the right time for owner Sharon Edelman, trainer, Jim Arledge, Jr. and driver Dan Noble.

SPECIAL LADY D WINS OHIO'S FIRST LADY PACE AT SCIOTO DOWNS
SPECIAL LADY D (Stand Forever-Grey Lady D) continued her domination of Ohio's 3 year old filly pacers by scoring a thrilling victory over her Stand Forever counterpart, STANDING DANETTE at Scioto Downs last Friday evening by taking the Ohio First Lady pace, Ohio State Fair Stakes, in a fast 1:53.4f. It was an exciting stretch dual as Standing Danette made her charge from way back and headed Special Lady D, but Special Lady D dug in and held off Standing Danette to score the victory by a length. The purse was $42,000.00 with Stand Forever fillies taking home 75% of the purse money. Congratulations to owners Country Club Acres, Inc. Daniel Wozniak and William Robinson. Brian Brown is her trainer and Ryan Stahl was her driver.

STAND FOREVER FILLIES SWEEP OHIO SIRES STAKES AT RACEWAY PARK
It was another banner evening Sunday for STAND FOREVER in Ohio Sires Stake action at Raceway Park as his three year old fillies, FOREVER LOVER (Stand Forever-Loco Lover) and SPECIAL LADY D (Stand Forever-Grey Lady D) swept both divisions of the three year old filly pace. In fact, Stand forever fillies were one-two in the second division with STANDING DANNETT finishing a close second behind SPECIAL LADY D.
In the first division, FOREVER LOVER went right to the front and never looked back as she scored an easy wire to wire victory in 1:57.3f for owners Country Club Acres, Inc. Findlay, Ohio and Kalinowski Stables. Brian Brown trains and Ryan Stahl was the winning driver.
In the second division, SPECIAL LADY D powered her way to the front and held off a furious closing rush by STANDING DANNETTE (owned by Sharon Edelman and Jim Arledge, Jr.) who rallied along the inside, to win by a nose in a thrilling finish in 1:56.4f. It was a sweet double victory for Country Club Acres, Inc., Brian Brown and Ryan Stahl. Daniel Wozniak and William Robinson share in ownership SPECIAL LADY D.
With the rebound occurring in Ohio racing, STAND FOREVER enjoyed a robust year in the breeding shed. It is a tribute to this fine stallion that after fourteen years, he keeps consistently siring sire stake winners despite the influx of new stallions that have come to Ohio. STAND FOREVER STANDS TALL IN OHIO SIRES STAKES ACTION
On July 3rd and 4th, Northfield Park and Scioto Downs hosted the first division of Ohio Sires Stakes action for two year olds. In both the colt and filly pacing divisions, STAND FOREVER offspring were division winners. At Northfield Park on July 3rd, ALWAYS D LADY (Stand Forever-Grey Lady D) braved through a torrential downpur and won her filly division in 2:00.1h for her owners, Country Club Acres, Inc., Daniel Wozniak and Aws Stables, Ohio. ALWAYS D LADY was driven by Chris Page and is tranined by Brian Brown.
On July 4th at Scioto Downs, DUSTO (Stand Forever-Doctor Cindy) went gate to wire in 1:57.1f in the face of 100 degree heat, pacing the last quarter in 28.3. Congratulations to his owner trainer, Steve Carter, and to his driver, Kyle Ater. Each year, Stand Forever brings forth numerous sire stake winners to add to his impressive siring record.

Hickory Lane Farm stallions scored a winning triple Saturday night in the second round of The Ohio Sire Stakes action for three year old fillies.
Both divisions of the filly trotters was taken in gate to wire performances by TRAINFORTHEFUTURE fillies Rose Run Nellie and Easter Rosetta.
ROSE RUN NELLIE (Trainforthefuture-Lilyad-Armbro Iliad) was the first to score in her second Ohio Sire Stake win of the season in a 1-3/4 length victory in 1:58.2. Congratulations to owner, trainer, and driver Scott Cox.
It was EASTER ROSETTA (Trainforthefuture-Kw's Lasermachine-Armbro Laser) in the second division leaving from the outside post #7 to the quarter in 29.2 to take her division 1:58.2. Congratulations to driver Kurt Sugg, trainer Rickie Williams, and owner Ray Williams, and Robert Burkhart.
In race eight, STAND FOREVER filly SPECIAL LADY D (Stand Forever-Grey Lady D-Cam's Magic Trick) was back to the winning form of her 2 year old year, winning by 5-1/2 lengths in 1:53.3 for winning driver Ryan Stahl. TRAINFORTHEFUTURE AND STAND FOREVER OFFSPRING VICTORIOUS IN OHIO SIRES STAKES ACTION AT LEBANON RACEWAY
On May 4 and 5, 2012, Lebanon Raceway held the inaugural leg of Ohio Sires Stakes action for three year olds for 2012 and TRAINFORTHEFUTURE and STAND FOREVER offspring were very prominent with victories in three divisions of action. In the three year old filly trot, ROSE RUN NELLIE (Trainforthefuture-Lilyad-Armbro Illiad) closed with a rush to win by a neck in 2:03h. This fine filly is owned trained and driven by Scott Cox. Congratulations to Scott. In the three year old colt trot "Train" again proved he belongs at the top of the list of Ohio trotting stallions when he sent out BLAZING FUTURE (Trainforthefuture-Blaze of Fury-Speedy Crown) to a wire to wire victory in 2:00.4h. MONA LISA SPUR, a daughter of the Hickory Lane broodmare MARTY E, and mother of multiple stakes winner and Open trotter, REMBRANDT SPUR, 1:52.2f, went first over and put away her challengers in 2:02.3f in capturing the $20,100 first division for owner Roy Davis and trainer-driver Dick Stillings.
