A Big Weekend For Hickory Lane Stallion Offspring

Jun 15, 2013

This past weekend proved to be a big weekend for offspring of McARDLE and STAND FOREVER in stakes and overnight action. Friday evening, Pennsylvania Sires Stakes action took place at Harrah's Chester featuring 2 year old pacing fillies. In the $57,227.00 first division, MCARDLE filly TYRA (McArdle-Pernilla-Abercrombie) came from way off the pace to win in 1:54.1f for driver Tim Tetrick, trainer Joanne Looney-King and owner, the CC Racing, Ill. TYRA paced her final quarter in 27.2.

Not to be out done, on Saturday, BAKIN ON THE BEACH, 4,g 1:50.4f (McArdle-Elizabeth Street-Falcon Almahurst), bred here in Ohio by Cool Winds Farm, set a track record at Scioto Downs winning in a blistering 1:50.4f. (Unfortunately, the record only lasted a few races where it was later lowered by a fifth of a second.). With a limited number of foals racing from his last few Pennsylvania crops, McARDLE is showing he can compete with the very best. McARDLE was bred to a full book of mares his first season in Ohio. He will have well over 100 foals on the ground by this time next year assuring everyone that he is here to stay and will be a major force competing in the Ohio stakes program.

Also on Saturday evening, CHANCE I MIGHT (Stand Forever-Nature's Course-Precious Bunny) was back at it, winning again in Ohio Sires Stakes action in the 2 year old colt pace at Scioto Downs winning his $30,000.00 division in a fine 1:56.2f for owner Rebecca Dwyer, Trainer Jim Dailey and driver Brad Hanners. STAND FOREVER, from very small crops just keeps on producing quality sire stake caliber horses. Congratulations to all on a very successful and exciting weekend of racing.
