  • Tyra wins Grand Circuit Event at Harrah's Philadelphia; Soul Train wins OSS at Scioto Downs, sets a Track Record

    Sep 03, 2013

Labor Day weekend stakes action was highlighted by two sparkling performances by offspring of McARDLE and TRAINFORTHEFUTURE.

Last Friday at Harrah's Philadelphia, the sensational 2 year old filly TYRA (McArdle-Pernilla) won her fifth race in six starts by capturing the $42,812.00 Historic two year old Grand Circuit filly pace in 1:53.2f for owner CC Racing, Illinois, trainer Joann Looney-King and driver Tim Tetrick. TYRA increased her freshman earnings to $144,929.00 which ranks her eighth in North America among all two year old pacing fillies; job well done!

Not to be outdone, SOUL TRAIN (Trainforthefuture-Dances on Air) continued his hot streak by capturing a $30,000.00 division of Ohio Sires Stakes action at Scioto Downs Saturday in a track record time of 1:57.2f for owners Parent Racing Stables, LLC, Robert Crynick and John Novak, trainer Scott Cox and driver Chris Page. SOUL TRAIN increased his lifetime earnings over $50,000.00 and will enter this Saturday's $150,000.00 OSS Final as one of the favorites. It has been an incredible year for his sire, TRAINFORTHEFUTURE who, year after year, continues to produce multiple sire stakes winners. Good luck to SOUL TRAIN and his connections in the final. We are proud to have produced at Hickory Lane Farm this fine young trotter!
